Who Doesn’t Want a Bear Hug?

I don’t know about you…but I could really use a Bear Hug.

Life has been crazy for me the last few weeks.  Nothing horrible personally, but lots of little inconveniences, illnesses, plans thwarted, snowstorms, etc have snowballed into a few yucky weeks. How about you?  Is your 2017 off to a good start, or a challenging one?

So when the mail came last week and this sweet book was in my mailbox, I felt like God sent me a tiny little bear hug.

And when I opened it, I smiled at the beautiful illustrations, the soothing words, the reminder of how loved I am, and how much I love.

Though my boys aren’t young enough to read this to anymore (well…I could read it to them, but seeing that 2 of them are bigger than me, it would be interesting) it resonates so much with me as a book I would’ve loved  to read to them years ago.  The poetic and rhythmic way it’s written makes it perfect for reading to a little one.

I’m going to give you a bear hug.

A show how much I care hug.

A good night, sleep tight, way beyond compare hug.

But it’s the  next page that describes my life right now…

Yes, the chaos and crazy of dogs running through the house resonates with me strongly….as both my dogs and my boys run through the house like banchees often.  But then this exact thing happens…

They all cuddle up together and sleep like logs.

My life, probably a lot like yours, is full of chaos and crazy.

 

And it’s also full of a whole lot of awesome.

 

I’m Going to Give You a Bear Hug is a great reminder, even for this mom of teens and tweens. Our kids never get too old for a bear hug.  And neither do we!

I’ve read this to my friends young daughters and they love it.  I can’t wait to read it to my new ‘niece’ in a year or so.  She’s going to love it too!
