So here’s the thing. This time last year, I was recovering from a fall down a flight of marble stairs in New York City in July. When October 2015 began, I thought I was almost recovered. I thought the nasty leg wound that sent me to the hospital for 5 days and countless doctor appointments was healing well. my bumps and bruises were fading, and my shoulder pain was slowly decreasing. My leg was still looking nasty, but I was thinking that what was under the huge scab was healing. Oh how I was wrong!
While we were on a trip with my family the first weekend of October, the scab came off. And I’ll spare you the disgusting details, but it was obvious that the wound was still infected.
Back to the specialists I went, and ended up going through more medical intervention, doctor appointments, nurse visits, IV antibiotics multiple times a day via a PICC line in my arm, plastic surgeon appointments (and, darn it, they wouldn’t do any ‘extra’ work on me! 😉 ) and the physical and mental repercussions of months of antibiotics.
Writing was not a priority during this…and trust me, my brain was so mixed up from lack of sleep, brain fog and overwhelm that you wouldn’t want to have read my thoughts. Trust me. I could barely put a sentence together some days.
So I’m back……and I’m going to finish what I started a year ago!!!
I’m going to use the posts I wrote last year (all 7 of them. Lol!) and go from there. I might add some update to the original ones, but will use a different font to set apart anything added this year.
I hope you will join me on this journey through Proverbs…31 days…one day at a time.
