I promised myself I wouldn’t participate in the Write 31 Days challenge this year.
I really did.
Life is too full to add in one more thing in the fall.
Then they created a micro-blogging on Instagram category and I just can’t help myself! My favorite social media platform, pretty pictures and a few paragraphs each day? It’s like they planned that just for me!
I can totally do that!!!
This summer I read Church of the Small Things by Melanie Shankle and loved it. I adore her books, her blog and her podcast, but this book hit me in a special way. It spoke to something God has been stirring in me for a year or so. I find it so easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of life, the To Do List (that rarely ever seems to get done) and the pressures on my time and attention, that I often miss out on moments of God’s goodness, His faithfulness, His kindness towards me. The little ways God shows me He loves me in my every day life. And He’s slowly, lovingly opening my eyes and my heart to see Him at work in my life. In the small moments that bring me delight, if I look for them. If I slow down enough to see them, delight in them.
I’m praying that this month of posting every day also gets me out of my writing slump and gets me back to doing one of my favorite things in the whole world.
Writing!
I’d love for you to check in everyday around 9 am everyday to see what God wants me to share with you about delighting in the small things of life! You can click here to go to my Instagram account. I’ve also added my Instagram feed here on the right sidebar of my blog. You can click on any of the pictures to be taken right to them on Instagram. If you haven’t followed me there, I’d love if you would. You’ll see my Write 31 Day post each morning in the month of October.
So it might be a little quiet here on the blog (who am I kidding?! I have been struggling to write lately, so the blog has been quiet for awhile!) but I am really hoping that this is the beginning of some wonderful things God is up to in my writing!
Ready or not….I’m coming for you Write 31 Days!
If you are participating in the Write 31 Days challenge please leave a comment with a link to your series. I’d love to check it out!
Looks like a fun topic! I tend to post once a day on Instagram, and still might join the microblogging category :).
Thanks Anita! You should join in the fun!!!
Melissa, isn’t this the grandest thing? W31 on IG. Now, I can totally get into it. See you there – oh dear – we do follow one another, I hope. LOL Will check on that as soon as I’m done commenting. HA. Happy and Blessed SONday and see you on IG. Not sure we’re “allowed” to post on the Survivor Thread – how would we do that? I didn’t think ahead. Maybe I’ll just post my photo since it’s got the haiku within. Hmm. Help me think this one through, okay? xo
