Wait…it is a bad word to many of us. Our microwave, wifi, Instagram generation is not a patient group. Waiting is seen as a curse, not a blessing.
I am no exception.
I hate to wait. I’ll bet you do too.
But as I contemplated what to write today about the word wait, I was reminded of Isaiah 40:30-31 that promises that
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted,
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
That’s what I want….
to renew my strength, run and not grow weary, walk and not faint.
I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been feeling rather weary. It’s not a word I use often or lightly, but nonetheless, it’s the word I would use to explain the condition of my heart.
And as I type this, I just realized that the song playing in my headphones is Everlasting God. I noticed, because the words, ‘strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord, we will wait upon the Lord. We won’t grow weak.’
God is so sweet to me. I love how He reveals Himself and encourages me. He renews my strength.
